Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I’m having pain in my ______ (hip, knee, back, shoulder, wrist, toe, elbow, etc.). Can I participate in the classes?

A: If you are currently having any red flag pain symptoms (burning, tingling, numbness, heat, stabbing, sharp…etc.) you NEED to make sure you are cleared by your doctor before starting classes with us.

This is for your safety and to ensure there are no underlying medical conditions that need to be addressed.

Q: Will this program help me tone up?

A: Yes! Pilates is a great tool for building strength and helping improve muscle definition while decreasing body fat (aka “toning”).

We also offer supplementary strength and barre + cardio classes such as:

  • Lower Body Strength

  • Upper Body Strength

  • Cardio/Hiit

  • Posture & Core Strength

  • Full Body Workout

  • Pilates Barre + Cardio (Arms & Abs, Booty Burn)

  • Pilates Chair Plus

    ^^ I would consider these classes to be intermediate+ (Scroll down further for introductory classes)

Q: I have a bad hip (achy low back, stiff knees, etc.). Will there be modifications?

A: Absolutely! All of our classes are taught with live feedback and cuing throughout the entire class. Whether you are taking the class live or watching it on demand, it's as if the instructor is there watching you the whole time!

Unlimited Live + On Demand members have the option to ask their instructor specific questions before or after live stream classes and in our Private Members Only Facebook group.

If you are just starting out, I recommend starting with one of the following classes:

  • Gentle Pilates Mat

  • Gentle Yoga

  • Pilates Chair

Q: How long until I see results?

A: While you can start feeling better in as little as one class, I recommend committing to a new workout program for no less than 3-6 months to see results (ideally 6-12 months for long term, sustainable results). Here's why...

It's going to take you a few weeks, maybe even a month to get into a good routine... because LIFE.

If you're just starting out, there is a bit of a learing curve finding and maintaining a regular workout schedule and that's okay. You may also be starting with only 1-3 classes per week, which I fully support.

While expecting dramatic changes in 6-12 weeks is unrealistic, you will probably start to see initial results by then!

Q: Can you show me exercises that are not on the floor? I'm a senior and can't get down there easily!!!

A: We have an entire class program called Pilates Chair that was created 11+ years ago just for this reason! You don't have to be "old" or "fragile" to take this class.

Maybe you:

...just had a knee or hip replacement

... are in your third trimester, and need to modify your exercises for the remainder of your pregnancy

...are carrying a little extra weight and find getting on the floor to be uncomfortable

...have arthritis (osteo, scoliosos, stenosis, DDD, spondy. etc.) and prefer smaller, safer movements

Pilates Chair is offered Mon-Fri live at 10:00am PDT AND we have over 1,000 On Demand classes for our unlimited members.

A: Below you’ll find a sample weekly class schedule. All classes are in Pacific Standard Time. All classes recordings are immediately available via our Virtual Studio Members Only Facebook Group.
